This Hospital (CLUNY) started on 1961 as a humble beginning in a thached Shed, built on the foundation of love of the poor and sick, utmost dedication of sisters, staffs, co-operation of well-wishers, benefactors, government officials above all God’s Marvelous Blessings and Protection.
The 1st delivery took place on 15th January; it was a past pupil of our school, the wife of a prominent Doctor of the town.
She had many a time told Sr. Clothilde “I will inaugurate your Maternity” and this she did it. From that date we had a steady and rapid growth in the number of patients attending the maternity. The 1st year we had a 550 deliveries and 27 beds in all. The Construction of the present Maternity Block began in September 1961 and completed in August 1963 with 50 beds. We were happy to have by the end of 1984, 2280 Births, and an increased number of beds to welcome the patients. Today it has grown with the multiple services and facilities of 185 beds. It is a blessing to hear from patients that this is our home and not a Hospital. Thanks and Praise goes to God for our dedicated and compassionate service of our Doctors, Sisters and all the Medical Team.
This Hospital has an extension service of abandoned babies, orphan children, HIV AIDS patients Home, Palliative Care Home for the last stage of Cancer patients for their peaceful end at free of cost. The poor and marginalized find a welcome place in the hearts of health care personnel and in the Hospital as Anne Marie Javouhey our founders would desire.
We remember with deep gratitude our beloved Doctors, Dr. Sr. Peter Claver, Dr. Benedict, Dr. Gilbert, Dr. G.S. Reddy, and Dr. K.P. Singh, who were the source of inspiration, blessing and a visionary for our healing mission. May they continue to plead for us from above.
